Pickleball Equipment for Hotels: Start With What Guests Will Actually Use

A practical starter list for hotels and resorts adding pickleball, covering portable nets, guest paddles, balls, storage and replacement stock.

A painted court is not yet a pickleball program.
Guests still need a net, paddles, balls and a simple way to borrow them. Player discussions about resort courts often mention the same problem: a hotel lists pickleball as an amenity, but the net is missing or nobody knows where the equipment is kept.
For a hotel or resort adding pickleball, the first order should be small, practical and easy for staff to manage.
A sensible starter set for one court
For one guest court, a practical starting point is:
• one stable net system, plus basic replacement parts if it is portable; • six to eight durable loan paddles; • 12 to 24 balls selected for the court surface and local weather; • one clearly labelled storage bag, rack or cart; • a simple check-out sheet at reception.
This is enough for a family, a small group or an introductory session without creating unnecessary stock.
Portable or permanent net?
A portable net works well when the area is shared with badminton or other activities. Staff can store it after use, but setup must be quick and the frame must stay stable.
A permanent net is usually better for a dedicated court with regular daily use. Before ordering, check court dimensions, run-off space, lighting and wind exposure. Equipment cannot fix an unsafe or badly planned court.
Choose loan paddles for repeated use
Hotel paddles do not need complicated professional specifications. They do need consistent weight, comfortable grips and edges that tolerate frequent handling.
Keep at least two paddle types if guests include both adults and children. Add a small number of higher-grade paddles only if the resort offers coaching, clinics or organised play.
Balls need replacement planning
Balls are consumables. Heat, cold, rough surfaces and repeated impacts all affect performance. Test the ball on the actual court instead of selecting it only by colour or an indoor/outdoor label.
Keep a small replacement carton and record how quickly balls are lost, softened or cracked. That usage figure will make the second order more accurate.
The operational detail guests notice
Put all equipment in one known place. Tell guests whether play is open, booked or instructor-led. Check the set weekly and replace missing items before the next busy period.
How SYNLY can support a hotel project

FAQ
How many loan paddles should a hotel keep per court?
Six to eight is a practical starting point for one court. Higher-use resorts should also keep two replacements.
Should a resort buy indoor or outdoor pickleballs?
Choose according to the real surface, wind and temperature. Sample testing on the court is more reliable than the label alone.
Can hotel equipment carry a custom logo?
Yes. Pickleballs, paddles and packaging can be customised for the property, event or guest program.
